Will Benedict's 'Dialogue of the Dogs' at Centre d'Art Contemporain Genève

Will Benedict (b. 1978, Los Angeles; lives in Paris) presents 'Dialogue of the Dogs' at Centre d'Art Contemporain Genève until December 18, 2022. The exhibition, named after Miguel de Cervantes' story, spans two floors and includes paintings, photographs, collages, and videos. 'Degrees of Disgust' (2019) satirizes productivity culture, with text from Jia Tolentino's 'Trick Mirror'. 'Apologize to the Future' (2020, with Chris Korda, music by Wolf Eyes) shows CGI objects ascending underwater. 'The Monkey Video' (2022) briefly shows a chimpanzee hitting a car windshield. 'Balenciaga SS20' (2020) imagines a monobrand dystopia. The pivotal work 'The Restaurant, Season 2' (with Steffen Jørgensen) blends interview, cooking show, and police interrogation tropes, with androgynous aliens and talking animals. On December 15, a silent auction will sell 80 collaborative works created during workshops with youths aged 15–22, with base prices from 50 to 300 Swiss francs.
