Wildlife Photographer of the Year and Doisneau at Forte di Bard
The Forte di Bard in Italy hosts the Italian preview of the 52nd edition of the Wildlife Photographer of the Year, organized by the Natural History Museum of London. Over 100 sensational photographs selected from about 50,000 entries from 96 countries are displayed, including winners in 16 categories. Italian finalists and winners include Valter Binotto, Marco Colombo, and Stefano Unterhainer. The top prize went to American Tim Laman for 'Entwined Lives,' depicting a Bornean orangutan. Gideon Knight, 16, won the young category with a crow on a sycamore. Sir Michael Dixon, Director of the Natural History Museum, commented on the images touching hearts and challenging thinking about the environment. Concurrently, the exhibition 'Robert Doisneau. Icônes,' curated by Atelier Robert Doisneau in partnership with the Forte di Bard Association, presents the French humanist photographer's work, featuring portraits of Picasso, Giacometti, and everyday Parisian life, including 'The Kiss at the Hôtel de Ville' (1950).
