Wikkelhouse: modular cardboard home lasts a century
Dutch company Fiction Factory has developed Wikkelhouse, a modular home made from 24 layers of corrugated cardboard bonded with eco-friendly glue, treated with a weather-resistant film and wooden slats. The base version consists of three 5-square-meter modules, including a kitchen, shower, and toilet. Assembly takes about 48 hours. The house is already available in the Netherlands, Belgium, Luxembourg, Germany, France, the UK, and Denmark, and is expected to launch in Italy within the next year.
