White House interiors as propaganda tools at Dropcity Milan
Dropcity, the experimental center in Milan's Central Station tunnels, hosts 'The White House. Domestic Propaganda,' a show curated by Politecnico di Milano students. Running from March 26 to April 28, 2026, the exhibition examines the White House as a domestic space of political propaganda, where interior architecture intertwines with media, social, and cultural issues. Over fifty students produced visual studies, design experiments, and critical reflections. The display, supported by Nolostand, features seven 'spatial episodes' including 'Gift Archive,' 'The Dish of the Day,' 'Deep America,' 'Rituals of Entertainment,' and 'Common Threshold.' Each episode highlights how furniture, decor, and protocols reflect presidential agendas from Kennedy to Trump. The show builds on a 2025 edition on prison furniture. Curators Davide Fabio Colaci and Lola Ottolini led the research. The White House is analyzed as both archive and stage, connecting personal and collective, public and private. The exhibition is open Thursday to Sunday.
