Wetlands: A New Venetian Publisher Focused on Sustainability and Global Issues

Founded in Venice during the pandemic, Wetlands is a nonprofit social enterprise and publishing house created by a diverse collective of professionals, including lawyers, architects, curators, and journalists. The initiative arose from conversations about revitalizing urban areas, leading to the establishment of ReActiVe, with wetlands as its primary focus. The press addresses global issues such as climate change and overtourism, using Venice as a foundational context. Its name and series titles reflect the lagoon's ecosystem. Wetlands publishes original works and translations, featuring titles like Regis Débray's "Contro Venezia" and Frank Westerman's "Dittico idraulico." Upcoming releases include Claire Judde de Larivière's "La rivolta delle palle di neve."
