West Bund Art & Design 2020 Opens as Key Shanghai Art Event

The West Bund Art & Design fair in Shanghai, which runs until November 15, signals a resurgence in China's art market, coinciding with the Young Art Fair. This prominent event, the sole one in the Far East this year due to the cancellation of Art Basel Hong Kong, showcases over 100 galleries and artistic groups. It is part of the second Shanghai International Art Trade Month, which aims to establish the city as a global art center. Local officials are backing museum exhibitions and galleries. David Tung, the China director of Lisson Gallery, emphasized the importance of this event. Additionally, the fair celebrates the opening of the Art Tower, a 93,000-square-meter gallery complex that was inaugurated on October 16 and features 20 international galleries.
