Wereldmuseum Launches Global Citizenship Photography Competition

In honor of World Photo Day, Wereldmuseum has launched an open photography contest, welcoming submissions from photographers of all skill levels. The theme for this year's competition is 'Global Citizenship,' encouraging participants to creatively interpret concepts of connection, culture, community, and shared responsibility. Entry is free, and each participant can submit a maximum of three original photographs in either JPG or PNG format at the highest resolution. Those under 16 must obtain parental consent. While participants retain copyright, they grant the museum permission to utilize their images for promotional purposes. An independent jury will judge the entries based on creativity, originality, and relevance to the theme. Winning images will be featured on the museum's digital platforms, and winners will receive two admission tickets to their preferred Wereldmuseum location. The deadline for submissions is 12 August 2025, with entries sent to webteam@wereldmuseum.nl.
