We Are Müesli: videogiochi tra storia e cultura italiana

digital · 2026-05-04

Founded in 2011 by Claudia Molinari and Matteo Pozzi, We Are Müesli specializes in creating video games and narrative-driven experiences, frequently utilizing Ren'Py for visual novels. Their inaugural project, Cave! Cave! Deus Videt (2012-2013), was developed for the Bosch Art Game competition organized by the Jheronimus Bosch 500 Foundation, drawing inspiration from Hieronymus Bosch. This was followed by Venti mesi, a docu-game focused on the Milanese Resistance, and The Great Palermo, an interactive ballad celebrating Palermo's culinary traditions, all available for free online. Currently, they are developing Dewey Rooms, inspired by escape games. After Colpo di Stato, a paper-based escape game about the 1970 Borghese coup, their next project, Wer Ist Wer, is an immersive escape room addressing themes of control and surveillance, set to open from November 10 to December 8, 2019, at the Polo del '900 in Turin. Molinari and Pozzi, who met in a Milan advertising agency in 2009, have backgrounds in graphic design and writing, respectively. Their artistic influences range from Chagall and Basquiat to Depero and Picasso, and they focus on lesser-known narratives within Italian history and culture, blending digital and analog methods.
