Wayne McGregor's Venice Biennale Dance Leadership Extended Through 2026
Wayne McGregor will continue as artistic director of La Biennale di Venezia's dance department until 2026, following a two-year extension of his term. The choreographer expressed honor in curating the past four years of Biennale Danza and aims to support emerging contemporary dance talents via Biennale College and specialized developmental programs. McGregor founded Studio Wayne McGregor, which operates Company Wayne McGregor, a touring ensemble, and engages in interdisciplinary collaborations across dance, music, film, art, and technology, alongside educational and research initiatives. The upcoming International Festival of Contemporary Dance, titled We Humans, is scheduled from 18 July to 3 August in Venice, featuring performances by more than 160 artists.
