Wasserman Projects opens in Detroit's Eastern Market with inaugural exhibition by Linnenbrook, Gelpi, and Bromit.

Last month, Wasserman Projects opened its doors in the Eastern Market of Detroit, taking over a refurbished firehouse that offers 5,000 square feet of gallery space along with an extra 2,000 square feet. The first exhibition debuted on September 25, aligning with the Detroit Design Festival, showcasing works from Marcus Linnenbrook and Nick Gelpi, including their 2015 piece THEFIRSTONEISCRAZYTHESECONDONEISNUTS. Additionally, Jon Bromit presented an installation titled Elf Waves, Earth Loops, and *Spatial Forces. Gary Wasserman, the founder, selected Detroit for its rich cultural landscape. Looking ahead, Koen Vanmechelen's project, Cosmopolitan Chicken, is planned for fall 2016. Currently, Detroit's population stands at approximately 700,000, with a median age of 35 and an 82% African American demographic. The gallery also features Harley Valentine's sculpture, Dream Machine.
