Washington Walls Unveils Pop Culture Murals by Seven Artists
Under the curatorial direction of Jeff Beler, Washington Walls on Washington Avenue off Clark Place in Prospect Heights has been transformed with new murals celebrating pop culture anniversaries. Brooklyn-based artist Kelvin Morel aka Kam painted a vibrant salute to the Chinese Year of the Horse. NYC-based artist and arts educator Marissa Molina marked 35 years of Sonic. Rio de Janeiro-born, Brooklyn-based artist Barbtropolis celebrated the World Cup 2026. Queens-based artist LeCrue Eyebrows dedicated his mural to 50 years of Hotel California. GRAFSTRACT originator Fumero honored Tina Turner. Multidisciplinary artist Jordana Alexis Abrenica celebrated 100 years of Miles Davis. Brooklyn-based multidisciplinary artist Jason Naylor saluted Wu Tang. Photos were captured by Lois Stavsky.
