Wannenes Auction House Launches Fourth Edition of Forme | Selezione Milano Design Auction
Wannenes auction house will present the fourth edition of Forme | Selezione Milano on April 23, timed with the Salone del Mobile in Milan. The auction features approximately 150 lots, including Murano glass, Italian Rationalism, and international design icons. A monographic section highlights Toni Cordero, a late 20th-century Italian master influenced by Carlo Mollino and Carlo Scarpa. Top lots include a Bergère chair by Sawaya & Moroni from around 1990, estimated at €2,800–3,500, with an enameled metal structure and brass elements. Other notable items are four candelabras from Del Campo in Turin, estimated €2,600–3,200, and a console table with Marquinia and Rosso Verona marble, estimated €3,000–5,000. The sale also includes a 1930s crystal and brass table by Pietro Chiesa, estimated €12,000–16,000, and two floor lamps by Carlo Scarpa for Venini from the 1930s, with estimates up to €10,000. Six original lamps by Isamu Noguchi from the 1950s–1960s are featured, alongside a suspension lamp by Gio Ponti from the 1960s, estimated €35,000–40,000, with certification from the Gio Ponti Archives. Giacomo Abate, an expert at Wannenes, noted the auction aims to rediscover overlooked names and objects for both the public and professionals.
