Wang Yuxiang designs Piedmont pavilion at Vinitaly 2023

festival-fair · 2026-04-27

Chinese artist Wang Yuxiang, who was born in 1997 in Anhui and currently lives in Italy, won the ninth Vinitaly competition to design the Piedmont pavilion for Italy's top wine fair, which took place in Verona from April 2 to 5, 2023. His installation, inspired by a Chinese poem, turns Pavilion 10's entrance into a mountain pass. Inside, guests embark on a creative experience that connects wine fermentation, the area's geological background, and Nietzsche’s view of the Dionysian myth. Combining woodcut techniques, pastels, photography, and 3D digital art, Yuxiang was selected by a jury from Artissima and other organizations. A graduate of RUFA, he also created 'Pensa di Uscire' for a museum in Rome this year.
