Wang Shu and Lu Wenyu Announce Title for 2027 Venice Architecture Biennale

The 20th edition of the Venice Architecture Biennale, set to take place in May 2027, will be titled 'Do Architecture – For the Possibility of Coexistence Facing a Real Reality.' Curators Wang Shu and Lu Wenyu aim to spotlight critical themes such as climate change, diverse design philosophies, and the importance of sustainability through natural materials and craftsmanship. They advocate for architecture that tackles pressing societal challenges. Wang and Lu co-founded Amateur Architecture Studio in 1997 and have played significant roles in architectural education in China, with notable works including the Ningbo History Museum and the Xi'an Opera House.
