Wanderart's Lunar and Bride of Quietness at Fuorisalone 2024

exhibition · 2026-04-26

Alessandra Pasqua, founder of Wanderart, will present a double installation at Palazzo Litta during Fuorisalone 2024 in Milan. The artist, born in 1975 in Rome, studied painting at Central Saint Martins in London, sculpture and metalworking at Scuola Alchimia in Florence, and earned a degree in Building Engineering. She worked for Arup and later directed the style center of an aeronautical equipment company, designing helicopter and business jet interiors. For over a decade, she has focused on her artistic research, exploring painting, sculpture, and object design. Wanderart emphasizes materiality, including human material, and the interaction between matter, technology, environment, and emotion. Pasqua monitors and reduces carbon footprint using recycled materials and techniques, and experiments with biomaterials like mycelium. She collaborates with La Sapienza University's Department of Chemical Engineering, Materials and Environment to develop a new material from agro-industrial waste, travertine sludge, and nanochitin. The Lunar collection, recently shown at Soho House Rome, comprises bronze, aluminum, and brass pieces inspired by morphogenetic processes. Bride of Quietness, a sculpture referencing John Keats' Ode on a Grecian Urn and African fertility statues, will also be displayed.
