Wallpaper* magazine's editors have curated a list of must-see events for May 2026, spanning art, architecture, food, and film. The Venice Art Biennale opens to the public on 9 May, with collateral events in historic palazzos and Hernan Bas's exhibition 'The Visitors' at Ca' Pesaro. In Oxford, the Ashmolean Museum presents 'In Bloom', an exhibition exploring flowers' influence on trade, science, and exploration, designed by London-based architect DaeWha Kang, who reused 85 percent of showcases from a previous show and used low-impact materials. In Paris, MK2 Bibliothèque, in collaboration with the Centre Pompidou, hosts 'Pedro Almodóvar. Attachments', a retrospective of the director's 80s and 90s films running until 25 May 2026. In New York, Philadelphia-based potter Roberto Lugo unveils 'Alfarero del Barrio' in Madison Square Park, a monumental installation featuring a 20-foot-tall urn and a 15-foot-tall fire hydrant celebrating Puerto Rican culture for the US semiquincentennial. Restaurant openings include Honey & Co's new outpost on Great Portland Street in London, offering Middle Eastern cuisine, and Bistro Sablé in Canonbury, a French bistro with mains under £26.
