Wall in Art: New Murals in Val Camonica Connect Prehistoric Graffiti to Contemporary Street Art

festival-fair · 2026-05-05

The third edition of Wall in Art, a street art festival in Val Camonica, Italy, has added three new large-scale murals by Moneyless, Art of Sool, and Ozmo. The festival, directed by Ozmo, began in 2015 with his mural of Minerva in Breno. The new works are in Braone, Niardo, and Vione. Moneyless created a 63-meter abstract geometric mural on a winding road. Art of Sool's "Evoolution" depicts the evolution of mark-making from prehistoric graffiti to a dystopian future across six contiguous walls. Ozmo's "Pietra forata, Dos delle Barbine, Accademia del Cattabriga" references local myths and legends, including a stone used to invoke rain and the Vestals of Bergimo. The festival is set against the backdrop of Val Camonica's UNESCO-protected prehistoric rock art, with over 250,000 petroglyphs dating back 10,000 years. The project aims to continue this tradition of public marking, engaging with residents and the landscape.
