VRE Festival Brings VR/AR/XR Immersive Works to Rome's Ex Caserma Guido Reni
Italy's inaugural festival focused on VR/AR/XR technologies, the VRE – Virtual Reality Experience, will take place at Ex Caserma Guido Reni in Rome from November 5 to 9, 2019, coinciding with Videocittà. Organized by Associazione Culturale Iconialab and curated by Mariangela Matarozzo, the event showcases 22 award-winning pieces from various nations, including South Korea, the U.S., and Italy. The lineup features VR short films such as 'Drumpossible' by Omar Rashid, along with socially relevant works like 'Refugees' and 'Mercy.' Winners for the Rai Cinema Channel VR prize and the Young for VRE prize will be chosen by two juries. Additionally, discussions on VR applications are scheduled for November 6 and 7, with free admission from 2:00 PM to midnight each day.
