VR Music Game and Art Installations Light Up San Lorenzo Night in Turin

digital · 2026-04-26

On August 10, 2024, the Royal Museums of Turin will host a virtual reality music game called ChronoSynth, allowing players to interact with planets and the Sun to generate sounds. Developed by Alessio Alonne (Buildenberg), the game lets users grab and throw planets or push the Sun to alter orbits and change music pitch. This event, curated by Club Silencio, marks the 300th anniversary of the Museum of Antiquities and is part of the 'Una notte ai Giardini Reali' series. Club Silencio, a cultural association engaging youth, has brought over 180,000 young people to more than 40 museums since 2017. The evening also features contemporary art installations by Guerrilla Spam, placed among ancient artifacts in the Archaeological Gallery, specifically in the Cyprus and Etruscan rooms. Alonne, a generative musician, is working on an 'album game' where players explore a space to find and interact with musical tracks, aiming to encourage repeated engagement in a fast-paced listening culture.
