Volunteers needed for On Kawara's One Million Years reading in Venice

Ikon Gallery is seeking volunteers to perform On Kawara's 'One Million Years (Reading)' at the Oratorio di San Ludovico in Venice's Dorsoduro district from May 9 to July 30, coinciding with the Venice Biennale's opening. Participants will read aloud from two large volumes listing one million years past and one million years future, in sessions of 60 or 120 minutes. The project, curated by Ikon director Jonathan Watkins, honors the late artist who died three years ago. Additionally, Kawara's 'Date Paintings' will be exhibited at Skulptur Projekte Münster this summer in a city kindergarten. Interested volunteers can contact Elisa Genna.
