Vogue's Earth Day Reading List: 9 Climate Books by Activists

In celebration of Earth Day 2025, Vogue has collaborated with four climate advocates—Xiye Bastida, Pattie Gonia, Isaias Hernandez, and Leah Thomas—to compile a selection of nine impactful books focused on climate, sustainability, and activism. Featured titles include 'Begin Again' by Oliver Jeffers, 'Black Nature: Four Centuries of African American Nature Poetry' edited by Camille T. Dungy, 'Braiding Sweetgrass' by Robin Wall Kimmerer, 'Forest Euphoria: The Abounding Queerness of Nature' by Patricia Ononiwu Kashian, 'Soil: The Story of a Black Mother’s Garden' by Camille T. Dungy, 'The Body Is a Doorway: A Memoir' by Sophie Strand, 'Who Really Feeds the World?' by Vandana Shiva, 'What If We Get It Right? Visions of Climate Futures' by Ayana Elizabeth Johnson, and 'Why Fish Don’t Exist' by Lulu Miller. Each activist shared a personal note, emphasizing Indigenous knowledge, queer ecology, Black narratives in environmentalism, and critiques of systemic issues, aiming to provide insight into the current climate crisis.
