Vivienne Westwood designs uniforms for Milan science museum staff

Vivienne Westwood has created a capsule collection of uniforms for the staff of the Museo Nazionale della Scienza e della Tecnologia Leonardo da Vinci in Milan. The collection includes tailored suits for women and two-piece suits for men in classic navy blue, along with camel knit sweaters. The women's suits feature the iconic Alcoholic Jacket with padded shoulders, enlarged double lapels, a deep neckline, three large buttons, and two patch pockets. Men's jackets have a single high button and three oversized flap pockets. The uniforms are made from organic cotton and virgin wool, reflecting Westwood's environmental activism. The designer also created T-shirts and sweatshirts in organic cotton for lab and science animator staff. Westwood's commitment to climate activism is highlighted through her Climate Revolution manifesto, which warns of irreversible climate change and a potential 5-degree temperature rise by century's end. The collaboration aligns with the museum's dedication to Leonardo da Vinci, the archetypal artist-scientist.
