Vivian Ziherl Appointed Curatorial Advisor for 24th Biennale of Sydney's 'Ten Thousand Suns'

Vivian Ziherl has been named the curatorial advisor for the upcoming 24th Biennale of Sydney, working alongside artistic directors Cosmin Costinaș and Inti Guerrero. Currently serving as the research and programs manager at Kunstinstituut Melly in Rotterdam, the Australian curator possesses a wealth of international experience spanning Europe, the Middle East/West Asia, the Asia Pacific, and North America. Additionally, Ziherl is a founding Director of Frontier Imaginaries. Her responsibilities will include promoting the biennial's theme, 'Ten Thousand Suns,' which delves into the concept of celebration and its political implications. The curatorial team also features Tony Albert as the Fondation Cartier pour l’art contemporain First Nations Curatorial Fellow. The event is set to commence on 9 March at various locations in Sydney, showcasing artists like Tracey Moffatt, Nádia Taquary, Trevor Yeung, and Pacific Sisters. Costinaș and Guerrero revealed the theme in July, highlighting its emphasis on public engagement through collaboration with artists and program contributors.
