Vittorio Storaro's 'Scrivere con la luce' Opens at Palazzo Merulana in Rome

The exhibition titled 'Scrivere con la luce' (Writing with Light), showcasing the work of three-time Oscar-winning cinematographer Vittorio Storaro, is currently on display at Palazzo Merulana in Rome until November 1, 2020. Curated by his son Giovanni and backed by Fondazione Cerasi and Coopculture, this marks the first time the exhibit is presented in Storaro's native city. It features seventy photographs alongside twenty reproductions of masterpieces by artists such as Caravaggio, Paolo Uccello, Francis Bacon, Magritte, Carpaccio, Raphael, and Henri Rousseau. Inspired by Caravaggio’s 'The Calling of Saint Matthew,' the exhibition is organized around the elements of fire, air, water, and earth, including images from films like 'Apocalypse Now' and 'The Last Emperor.' Additionally, it is supported by the Festa del Cinema di Roma and will host three events from October 9 to 23.
