Vittorio Sgarbi appointed President of MART in Trento and Rovereto
On February 15, 2019, Maurizio Fugatti, the President of the Autonomous Province of Trento, announced Vittorio Sgarbi's new role as President of MART – the Museum of Modern and Contemporary Art of Trento and Rovereto. This appointment comes shortly after Sgarbi took on the presidency of the Canova Foundation in Possagno. He will not receive any salary for this position, as he aims to breathe new life into the museum. Having previously visited MART alongside Fugatti for an exhibition, Sgarbi commended director Gianfranco Maraniello, who will continue in his position until May 2020. Sgarbi is eager to link MART with the Canova Foundation and enhance community involvement through a dedicated program.
