Vittoriale Celebrates 160th Anniversary of Gabriele D'Annunzio with Exhibitions and 3D Virtual Tour

The Vittoriale degli Italiani, the eccentric residence of poet Gabriele D'Annunzio on Lake Garda, will host celebrations for the 160th anniversary of his birth on March 11, 2023. President Giordano Bruno Guerri, who has led the foundation since 2008, organized a spring festival featuring two exhibitions. 'Viani al Vittoriale' showcases works by Lorenzo Viani, a key Italian Expressionist, at Villa Mirabella until September, while 'D'Annunzio a Viareggio' runs from June to October at the GaMC in Viareggio. A second exhibition focuses on Vittorio Cini, a 20th-century entrepreneur and collector, displaying around 30 contemporary works from public and private collections at the Ricovero del MAS and D'Annunzio Segreto. Additionally, a high-definition 3D virtual tour of the Vittoriale's rooms and gardens will launch on March 11, accessible online globally. The tour was developed from a 2022 survey using READ technology by QBT, RINA Prime Value Services, and SUPSI. Guerri quoted D'Annunzio's 'Contemplazione della morte' to emphasize the museum's commitment to innovation and future-oriented conservation.
