Vitra and Konstantin Grcic launch Scout table system for adaptable workspaces
Vitra, a Swiss furniture company, has teamed up with German designer Konstantin Grcic to introduce Scout, a versatile table system tailored for office and educational environments. Adopting a 'beta mindset', this collection emphasizes adaptability over flawlessness, addressing modern issues like economic instability, post-pandemic workspaces, and challenges posed by AI. Scout features a variety of work and meeting tables, including two fixed models and three mobile options with castor wheels, allowing for diverse configurations. The tabletops come in rectangular or trapezoidal shapes, with the latter enabling the creation of engaging setups like large circles or zig-zag formations. Certain models offer height adjustment via a strap for sit-stand functionality. Constructed from tubular steel, the tables are available in black or white, with vibrant and neutral accessories and privacy screens. Grcic referred to Scout as "a dynamic tool – mobile, adaptable and open-ended," aimed at enhancing workshops, courses, and team activities. The system is currently implemented at DHBW in Villingen-Schwenningen, Germany.
