Vito Ansaldi: Illustrator Inspired by Social Networks

Vito Ansaldi, born in Sicily in 1981 and based in Turin, draws inspiration from the web and social networks to explore and translate the world into pixels. His work offers a lucid critique of contemporary society, blending ferocity with irony and delicacy. Ansaldi cites illustrators Ferenc Pintér, Emiliano Ponzi, Christoph Niemann, and John Holcroft as influences. His creative process differs for personal and commissioned works: personal pieces often start from random observations recorded as voice memos, while commissions begin with brainstorming words on paper to create layered, dissonant scenes. He prefers digital tools for commissioned work and pencil for personal sketches. Ansaldi dreams of illustrating his first book cover and collaborating with a famous magazine he won't name. He recently read "Figure" by Riccardo Falcinelli and watched "Green Book." Currently, he is preparing a selection of fine art prints for online sale and aims to increase editorial collaborations.
