Viterbo B&B dei Papi Boutique Hotel presents 'Il Filo di Arianna' with five young artists

exhibition · 2026-04-26

Rosanna Stoppani, owner and curator, has been hosting contemporary art exhibitions and events at her B&B dei Papi Boutique Hotel in Viterbo since 2013. The property, a 13th-century noble residence of the Tignosi di Magonza family, was renovated after Stoppani acquired it in 2002. The successful series 'La Casa Immaginata' invites artists to reinterpret the historic spaces. This year, from October 17, 2024, the hotel presents 'Il Filo di Arianna' in collaboration with Arnia, a project mapping the most interesting under-33 research in Italy. The exhibition features installations and performances by Giulia Apice, Giorgia Baroncelli, Cecilia Damiani, Nicoletta De Santoli, and Ilaria Pennoni, who resided and worked in Viterbo for the occasion. The labyrinth theme symbolizes the existential journey through contemporary information networks, with Arianna offering the thread as guidance. The itinerary begins with Baroncelli's pseudo-dome referencing the Mausoleum of Galla Placidia, then moves to Apice's floating sheets titled 'Bagdad' celebrating women. De Santoli's performance 'Pensavo fosse un sogno e invece era il passato' expresses contemporary solitude. The exhibition concludes with a collaborative work by Damiani and Pennoni, 'Pris entre-deux feux', a counter-wall with precious fabrics honoring all Arianne. The article is written by Caterina Angelucci.
