Visionnaire and Studiopepe Present 'L’Impero Dei Sensi' at Milan Design Week 2023

Italian design brands Visionnaire and Studiopepe have unveiled a capsule collection titled 'L’Impero Dei Sensi' ('The Empire of the Senses') at the Wunderkammer Visionnaire Design Gallery during Milan Design Week 2023. The installation, running until the end of 2023, features three pieces: the Shibari armchair, Parade lighting system, and Blanche duo of mirrors. Studiopepe, founded by Arianna Lelli Mami and Chiara Di Pinto, collaborated with Visionnaire, a Bologna-based meta-luxury brand. The space is enveloped in flesh-hued eco-fur by Jab Anstoetz Group, with a bespoke amber fragrance by perfumer Antonella Bondi. Stacked televisions play 21 minutes of archival film on bodily contact, contributed by Variante Artistica. Heavy velvet curtains reveal and hide furnishings; Blanche mirrors require pushing aside leather strips to be seen fully. The Shibari armchair uses knotting techniques, while Parade lighting is shaped like a tongue. The installation aims to engage all five senses and includes dance performances. Curator Marco Morandini describes it as a synesthetic story celebrating senses and sensuality. The collaborators intend to evoke introspection and well-being.
