Viral Video Shows Tourists Doing Photo Shoot at Auschwitz Entrance

A TikTok video posted by user Alojzy Nowak on Sunday shows a group of tourists conducting a photo shoot on the train tracks at the main entrance of Auschwitz-Birkenau in southern Poland, the largest former Nazi German concentration and extermination camp where over 1.1 million people died. The footage, which has garnered 2.5 million views, features a young woman sitting on the tracks adjusting her hair while two others photograph her, set to the theme from Curb Your Enthusiasm. Polish news outlet TVP World reported that social media users accused the group of disrespecting Holocaust victims, with one calling for heavy fines. The Auschwitz Museum has previously reminded visitors to behave respectfully. In 2024, the Zekelman Holocaust Center in Detroit rearranged its exhibit to prevent Nazi-themed selfies after students photographed themselves with a swastika-bearing uniform.
