Viola Consigli's 'Strane Nuvole': Memory and Loss Through Clouds

The title references the animated film 'Pocahontas', where the protagonist interprets English ship sails through her own cultural lens. Consigli explores how memories form, change, and persist, taking new shapes in relation to the present. Clouds, observed in moments of stillness, serve as a pretext to recall a personal grief. They are unstable, ever-changing elements that mirror memory's fragmentary, selective, and emotional nature. The project constructs a visual archive of objects, places, and texts, not to reconstruct a linear story but to suggest a way of relating to what remains after loss.
