Vinea Lucens: Italy's First Immersive Vineyard Show Opens on Appia Antica

other · 2026-04-27

Vinea Lucens, Italy's first immersive show set in a vineyard, opens to the public from Tuesday to Sunday starting June 28, 2023, at the Parvus Ager farm outside Rome. Designed by Gruppo Orpheo, a multinational known for installing video and audio guides in over 5,000 cultural sites worldwide since 1992, the experience takes visitors on a 2-kilometer, one-hour nighttime walk through vineyards, olive groves, and kiwi plants along a scenic stretch of the Appia Antica. The tour features 19 stops where Roman and Italic legends intertwine with the story of a family that has cultivated vines for over 100 years. Using an audio narrative focused on local farming traditions and folklore, the show combines light, sound, and shadow to create an immersive journey. Each visit culminates in a wine tasting led by a sommelier at the Parvus Ager winery, with optional regional cuisine at the Stazione Mole restaurant. The event runs until October 8, 2023, and is under the patronage of the Parco Regionale dell'Appia Antica and the Comune di Marino, in collaboration with Stazione Mole. The project aims to merge tradition, history, and gastronomy, opening a new frontier in the wine and immersive entertainment sectors.
