Vincenzo della Corte: From Orchestra Conductor to Vienna Gallerist

artist · 2026-05-05

Vincenzo della Corte, an Italian former orchestra conductor, opened Vin Vin Gallery in Vienna in March 2016. The gallery's name combines 'Vin' from his first name and the German pronunciation of 'Wien' (Vienna). His inaugural exhibition featured German artist Julian Turner, who later won the Kapsch Contemporary Art Prize 2017, sponsored by Vienna's Mumok museum. The prize includes a cash award, acquisition of a work by the museum, and a solo exhibition at Mumok titled 'Warum nicht' (Why not) opening in November 2017. Della Corte has since represented artists including Karoline Dausien, Dino Zrnec, Joakim Martinussen, Astrid Wagner, Karine Fauchard, Samuel Richardot, and Line K Meyer. He participated in Vienna Contemporary (September 21–24, 2017) and Not Fair in Warsaw. Della Corte studied violin at the Conservatory of Naples and conducting at the University of Music and Performing Arts Vienna, debuting at the Musikverein with the RSO Vienna. He cites early influences from Gustav Klimt and the Vienna Secession, as well as Alberto Burri's work on a Fahrenheit 451 cover.
