Vincent Grange's Dorothy's Office at Basel Social Club 2026

exhibition · 2026-07-30

At the Basel Social Club 2026, Vincent Grange introduced 'Dorothy's Office,' part of his ongoing immersive work, 'The House of Dorothy' (2023–present). This installation imagines Dorothy’s hidden home, a fictional queer figure linked to the phrase 'Friends of Dorothy,' which holds significance in LGBTQIA+ history. The space feels like an odd surveillance office, filled with mirrors, cameras, and quirky household items, exploring themes like secrecy, visibility, chosen families, and queer survival. Grange, originally from Switzerland, combines architecture and sculpture to create interwoven fictional worlds inspired by queer stories and camp style. He holds a Master’s in Space and Communication from HEAD – Genève and has exhibited solo at various prestigious venues. His work was presented by Galerie Fabian Lang on June 20, 2026.
