Villa Torlonia to Host Exhibition Honoring Collector Bianca Attolico
A memorial exhibition for Roman collector Bianca Attolico, who died in early 2020, will open at Villa Torlonia's Casino dei Principi as a collateral event of the Quadriennale di Roma. Curated by Ludovico Pratesi, the show presents 58 works by 57 artists spanning from the 1910s to today, tracing Attolico's collecting journey from the Scuola Romana (Mario Mafai, Fausto Pirandello, Alberto Ziveri) to contemporary international emerging artists. The display recreates the atmosphere of her Parioli apartment, emphasizing a domestic collection model. The project was initiated by Quadriennale president Umberto Croppi and produced in collaboration with the Sovrintendenza Capitolina, with support from Attolico's children Lorenzo and Elena. A video tribute is produced by Artribune. The exhibition aims to highlight Attolico's role as a passionate supporter of Italian art, known for her frankness and generosity, who frequented fairs and hosted artists, gallerists, critics, and curators at her home.
