Villa Romana Seeks New Director for Florence Artists' Residence

Villa Romana, the historic artists' residence in Florence, is currently seeking a new director. The organization, which has operated for over 120 years, awards the Villa Romana Prize, Germany's oldest art prize, to four primarily younger visual artists from Germany. Prize winners receive a free studio and furnished apartment in Florence, allowing them to develop their artistic practice. In recent years, Villa Romana has expanded its activities with events on-site, regionally, and internationally, offering artists various opportunities to engage with these contexts. The new director will be responsible for the artistic, business, and organizational management of the Villa Romana, as well as hosting and supporting fellows and visitors. The organization is run by Villa Romana e.V., based in Frankfurt. The position entails overseeing the daily operations and strategic direction of the institution.
