Villa Romana Hosts Online Exhibition OnLife with 14 European and Asian Artists
OnLife, an innovative online exhibition, has been unveiled by Villa Romana in Florence, thanks to the efforts of artist-curator Giacomo Zaganelli and director Angelika Stepken. Organized in a mere ten days during the COVID-19 lockdown, the project features contributions from fourteen artists from Europe and Asia, who were invited to create immediate, web-centric works in response to the pandemic. Notable participants include Silvia Piantini, Fabrizio Bellomo, Yao Jui Chung, and others. The exhibition showcases original videos, audio, images, and texts designed exclusively for digital viewing, available until May 22 at onlife.villaromana.org. Zaganelli highlighted the exhibition’s focus on exploring new digital realms while avoiding a glorification of technology, with the golden spiral serving as a visual guide.
