Villa Pignatelli in Naples placed under direction of Palazzo Reale
Villa Pignatelli, a 19th-century estate located in Naples, is now under the management of Palazzo Reale di Napoli, with Mario Epifani at the helm. His objectives include preserving current agreements, enhancing security and services, and reinforcing the villa's historical significance. Originally constructed in 1826 for Sir Ferdinand Richard Acton by Pietro Valente, the villa was later expanded by Carl Mayer von Rothschild following Acton's death in 1841. A ballroom was subsequently added by Prince Diego Aragona Pignatelli Cortes. In 1955, Princess Rosina Pignatelli bequeathed the villa to the state, which features extensive collections. It also boasts a neoclassical veranda and a park designed by Guglielmo Bechi, functioning as the Casa della Fotografia for exhibitions and events.
