Villa d'Este and Villa Adriana Director Andrea Bruciati on 2020 Plans and Pandemic Challenges

Andrea Bruciati, who oversees Villa d'Este and Villa Adriana, has detailed the upcoming 2020-2021 agenda in light of the pandemic. On October 16, the exhibition 'Ecce Homo' will be introduced at Villa d'Este, showcasing ten pieces that explore the connection between humanity and divinity, and will be available until January 10, 2021, while the complete exhibition is rescheduled for February 2021. The Villae Film Festival took place in September. Future plans for 2021 encompass the renovation of exhibition areas, cultural outreach, scientific endeavors—including the 'Codice Raffello' exhibition—educational programs, and the launch of a new website. Bruciati voiced his worries about the economic downturn's impact on cultural sectors and tourism, stressing the need for a sustainable equilibrium between the economy and cultural heritage. In the first half of 2020, visitor attendance reached 75,000, with a notable event being the filming of 'Leonardo' at Villa d'Este.
