Villa Clea: Ex-carrozzeria a Milano diventa residenza per artisti

architecture-design · 2026-04-27

In Milano, specifically in the southern area near the countryside of the Vettabbia Valley, a former body shop has been repurposed into Villa Clea, a non-profit space that merges an artist residency, accommodation, and exhibition area. This initiative was spearheaded by the thirty-something architects Allina and Matteo Corbellini, who returned to Milano after working abroad. Supported by the Municipality of Milan and the Cariplo Foundation, Villa Clea features two mini apartments for artists, a residence for its founders, studios, and shared spaces overlooking a courtyard. A Mediterranean herb garden replaced the old body shop oven, and a green roof enhances views of the nearby buildings. The first residency and exhibition will be launched by New York artist Andrea Smith (1992), followed by French dancer Sulian Rios in November. A fundraising campaign is also in the works to support activities in 2024, and the available rooms are rented out to traditional guests, with furnishings designed by Allina (Alessandra Pelizzari Corbellini). You can find Villa Clea at via M. d'Agrate 27, Milano.
