Villa Arconati Hosts 2022 Agenda 2030 Program Blending Art, Science, and Nature

Fondazione Augusto Rancilio has launched a year-long program titled 'Agenda 2030 tra arte e scienza, natura e cultura' at Villa Arconati in Bollate, near Milan. The initiative, directed by Massimiliano Finazzer Flory, aims to interpret and represent the 17 Sustainable Development Goals of the UN's 2030 Agenda through cultural actions, emphasizing that while 'culture' is not explicitly mentioned in the goals, 'education' is. The program runs from April to December 2022, featuring events such as conferences, dialogues, musical and theatrical performances, and educational activities. The first event on April 3, 'Città e comunità sostenibili,' includes readings from Pier Paolo Pasolini, Italo Calvino, and Jorge Luis Borges. On April 24, Max Casacci, founder of Subsonica, presents 'Earthphonia,' a sound work using ecosystem sounds. April 29 features a talk on education with University of Milan rector Elio Franzini. Gender equality is addressed on June 5 with Marilisa D'Amico and Paola Mattei, followed by a 'Concerto verde' with the Coro degli Amici del Loggione del Teatro alla Scala. The program covers topics like work dignity, innovation, waste reduction, health, water, and climate change. The foundation collaborates with the University of Milan. Finazzer Flory stated the project aims to create a 'circular culture' that bridges humanities and sciences, making sustainability an education-supported system.
