Vilcek Foundation Opens 2025 Creative Promise Prizes for Immigrant Fashion Professionals

The Vilcek Foundation is inviting submissions for its 2025 Creative Promise Prizes, which will award $50,000 in unrestricted funds to immigrant fashion professionals in the U.S. The deadline for applications is 9 June 2025. Established in 2000 by Jan and Marica Vilcek, who emigrated from former Czechoslovakia, this New York-based nonprofit has awarded $8.7 million to foreign-born individuals and granted over $6.8 million to organizations that promote arts, sciences, and culture. This year’s competition includes two categories: Fashion & Design, targeting designers in various clothing sectors, and Fashion & Culture, which welcomes writers, researchers, and creatives in photography and film. Three winners from each category will receive the $50,000 prize, underscoring the foundation's belief in the importance of diversity in fostering innovation and dialogue in the arts.
