Vikram Divecha's First Survey Exhibition Opens at Art Jameel

exhibition · 2026-04-23

Art Jameel is set to present 'Short Circuits', marking the inaugural survey exhibition of Vikram Divecha, an artist originally from Beirut and currently based in Dubai, from February 1 to June 16, 2024. This exhibition showcases a decade of Divecha's work through installations, videos, photography, and drawings that reflect on the urban and social narratives of the UAE. It features new commissions, artworks borrowed from local collectors and international museums, as well as pieces from the Art Jameel Collection. Divecha engages with various stakeholders to uncover the underlying frameworks of urban development. The exhibition, co-curated by Dawn Ross and Lucas Morin, will have a preview on January 31, accompanied by a conversation with the artist and curators, along with a monograph published by Press Works. The Art Jameel Collection boasts over 170 artists and collectives, including Divecha.
