Vienna Design Week 2025: Best Of Highlights
The 19th Vienna Design Week (VDW) occurred over ten days starting in 2007, drawing approximately 40,000 attendees each year. Established by Lilli Hollein, Tulga Beyerle, and Thomas Geisler, the event has been under the direction of Gabriel Roland since 2021. This year's venue is located at a former car dealership on Wiedner Hauptstraße 52. Notable highlights include Design Everyday, curated by Vandasye, which features Austrian designers; BUILDING, presented by DING, focusing on the Natowic family's legacy; COMMON GROUND at CO—AG, showcasing various artists; LABINAC's fresh takes on Thonet chairs; Bureau Fomo's NEAR, FAR, WHEREVER YOU ARE; Atelier z57's CMD + SHIFT + D/ESIGN; and Passionswege, which connects designers with manufacturers. Additionally, Biofabrique Vienna's Wiener Farben creates natural dyes from organic waste.
