Vienna Celebrates Klimt, Schiele, Moser, and Wagner with 17 Exhibitions in 2018
In 2018, Vienna will celebrate the centenary of the deaths of Gustav Klimt, Egon Schiele, Koloman Moser, and Otto Wagner, all of whom passed away in 1918, through the event 'Bellezza e Abisso.' This initiative, organized by the Vienna Tourist Board, features 17 exhibitions at different locations, showcasing the influence of these artists on Austrian culture from 1890 to 1918. Key exhibitions include 'Klimt is not the End' at Lower Belvedere in March, 'Egon Schiele – Paths of a Collection' in October, 'Post Otto Wagner' at MAK in May, and a Koloman Moser exhibition in December. The program also explores the cultural environment of fin-de-siècle Vienna, including notable figures like Sigmund Freud and Gustav Mahler.
