Videocittà 2025: Audiovisual Festival at Rome's Gazometro Focuses on Sun and Digital Culture

The eighth edition of Videocittà, an audiovisual festival held at Rome's Gazometro Ostiense, is set to take place from July 3 to 6, 2025. Backed by the CO-VISION network, the festival aims to create a European digital archive focused on environmental topics by 2026. This year's theme, celebrating the Sun, coincides with the 800th anniversary of Saint Francis's Canticle of the Creatures and wraps up a four-part series on humanity's relationship with nature. Quayola’s site-specific installation, Solar, will envelop the G4 gasometer. The event will showcase video art from Lu Yang, Lawrence Lek, and Federica Di Pietrantonio, along with VR experiences, discussions on AI, and the exhibition Il Miglior internet di sempre, featuring various artists. Additionally, the Italian premiere of Onirica by fuse* will be part of the audiovisual performances.
