Videocittà 2024 at Rome's Gazometro: Immersive Art and Digital Culture
The Festival della Visione, known as Videocittà 2024, is set to take place at the Eni Gazometro complex in Rome from July 5 to 7. This seventh edition continues its thematic journey, having explored lunar themes in 2022 and terrestrial ones in 2023, with a focus on galactic themes for 2024 and digital-ecological transitions in 2025. The opening night will showcase 'Nebula,' a captivating light and sound installation created by Quiet Ensemble and Giorgio Moroder. Curated by Anna Lea Antolini, the festival will feature new immersive and VR experiences, including a VR room equipped with 30 headsets in collaboration with Rai Cinema. Additionally, attendees can enjoy 'Le Bal de Paris' by Blanca Li and the Teatro dell'Opera di Roma's VR presentation 'ODE corporis,' along with live performances, discussions on creators and AI, AV shows, and a video art segment curated by Damiana Leoni and Rä di Martino.
