Video lessons on contemporary art: myths of today
Architect Marco Capasso of Capware Lab created a series of ten educational videos on contemporary art as part of M.Arte – Mediateca d'arte, one of 31 projects funded nationally by the Direzione Generale Arte e Architettura Contemporanee e Periferie Urbane of MiBACT, directed by Federica Galloni, under the program “Scuola: Spazio aperto alla Cultura”. The multimedia educational path is installed in the 17th-century cloister of the Istituto Comprensivo “D’Aosta” in Ottaviano (Naples), designed to introduce students to the conceptual and provocative beauty of 20th-century art and to explore how digital tools can communicate artistic heritage today. The final video in the series discusses contemporary art and artists who have left an indelible mark on our imagination. The series includes episodes on: What is contemporary art, Dadaism (the scandal of Duchamp and the birth of the contemporary), Surrealism, Informale, Spatialism, New Dada and Nouveau Réalisme, Pop Art, Minimal Art, Conceptual Art, and Performance Art.
