Viaggi nell'Antica Roma: archeoshow ai Fori Imperiali

cultural-heritage · 2026-05-05

The educational spectacle series 'Viaggi nell'Antica Roma' returns to the Imperial Fora in Rome, running from April 13 to November 12. Curated by Piero Angela and Paco Lanciano, the program launched in 2014 with the Forum of Augustus and later added the Forum of Caesar. It has attracted over 140,000 spectators. The experience uses on-site stones, fragments, and columns, enhanced by new technologies such as films and projections that reconstruct ancient monuments, narrated by Piero Angela with music in eight languages. The Forum of Augustus focuses on the first emperor, whose 12-meter statue once stood beside the Temple of Mars Ultor, built after the Battle of Philippi in 42 BC. The initiative is part of Rome's cultural heritage valorization projects promoted by Roma Capitale and produced by Zètema Progetto Cultura, including the 'L'Ara com'era' augmented reality project. Tickets cost €15 full, €10 reduced, or €25/€17 for a combined ticket.
